Nowadays, Jalan Raja Abdullah have been squeezed by the rapid development at the Kuala Lumpur city centre, various development proposals have been tabled by the developers and architects to the Perbadanan Kampung Baru (PKB) and the local council Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), the proposal of redevelopment Kampung Baru lead to the extinction of the Malay Heritage and also the sense of place of the Kampung Baru itself, the most well-kept original places will be replaced or moved or centralized to a new place like eateries and traditional Malay House, if the proposal of redevelopment is approved by local authorities to proceed, particularly, this will give a huge impact on the residents of Kampung Baru and Malaysian population in general.

With a proposal to develop waterfront and convention center to reconnect Kelang River and Jalan Raja Abdullah, will significantly improved the socio culture and open public space quality at Kampung Baru.
