Hailey- she is an editor, they have to get the background information. they also have to get the Evidence and reasoning and be in charge of the writing.
Sanaa- she is a Documenter, they collect all the work and make sure we have the information that we need.
Trinity- I'm a visual director, it's where I collect pictures/videos and the other all design.
Background information:
For our project our question was: “Does the most common color change as you increase the flowers on the prairie.” Prairies are complex ecosystems, Prairies are home to a wide variety of non grasses like forbs. There are a hundred different species of prairie plant flowers at various times throughout summer, spring and fall that produce different colors and textures (Free state HighSchool, n.d.). The plots that me and my group picked were plots 15 , 6 and 7 and 15 and 7 was grasses and 2x forbs. forbs are flowers. And 6 were seeded grasses only. We chose this question because we like the different color flowers that there are and we think it's interesting that there are so many different colors of flowers. Further information visit free state prairie.
evidence:
On our dated chart it is showing the most common colors of flowers on plot 15, 6 and 7. The colors that we found were yellow, purple white and tan. On the chart it's showing the number of colors we found on each plot. We picked plot 15, 6 and 7. We chose these plots because they have flowers and because we thought that it would be interesting. We used our phone to take pictures. The app we used is the camera app that comes on iphones. We walked out into the prairie and walked around the outside of the plots. We didn't go inside of the plots and took pictures of the different colored plants we saw. We chose these plots because they have flowers and because we thought that it would be interesting.
reasoning:
The colors that we saw were yellow, purple, white and tan . We know that the most common colors on plots 15 6 and 7 at the prairie were yellow. the reason why yellow is the most common color is that in Kansas yellow is the main flower. But it was difficult to tell if the most common color changed, as the flowers increased because we could not tell if the number of flowers was increasing or not. So our research question was not able to be answered at this time.
Discussion and next steps:
An error that we made was we should have taken more pictures of flowers, and went inside the plots instead of just going around them. We also should have counted how many flowers we saw better. Some questions we are interested in is what type of soil is out there. As well as What type of flowers are on the plots of the prairie.
