Evidence
We went to plots 16 & 17, we used the seek app and google resorces to help Identify the diffrent bug species of bugs. It was very hard to find bugs due to the tall grasses but we managed to find at least 2 kinds of bugs of each plot. As we compared both plots we noticed had some of the same bugs. so we took one bug of each plot and compaired which plot was the most healthiest bassed off of which bug makes the most impact and effect. We looked at the plants and the visble changes we could see in each plot to identify which plot was the most healthiest bassed of there bugs impact and effect.
Background Info
What did we find or see ? When we went to plots 16 and 17 we noticed that there was a little difference between the two plots.16 had more dry and and some tall grasses and plot 17 had realy tall green grasses. We studied the surroundings based off of each bug that was in each plot. It was very hard to find and catch bugs in the prairie because of the tall grases and other plants , but we managed to find at least one bug from each plot.
Reasoning
The bugs we found in the plots were grasshoppers and wollybear caterepillars. In plot 16 we discovered the grasshopper, we studied the grass around the bug and tried to identify what changes do we saw that the grasshopper did to the grass. As we studied the grass we noticed that the plants that the grasshopper was eating wasnt that healthy. We saw that the grasshoper was eating the grass and some dead plants. And plot 16 was the most effected by this insect. We also researched about this bug to help us understand of whats happening that we may not se completely. Research says that grasshoppers rage holes in the prairie leaves and they often chew pod tissues into the seeds but we did not find any seed pods in the prairie. And the grasshoppers eat the grasses and the leaves veins that may cause that plant to start to die because of there glucose beimg comsumed by grasshopers. In plot 17 we discoverd the wollybear caterepiller. We did not find this on a leaf, we actually found it on the ground. We started to look at its surroundings and we didn’t find much effect that it has done to the prairie. But we did some research and found out that they eat the sunflowers in the area. Also sun flowers were growing in both plots 16 and 17, all though 16 had more change, 17 didn’t have much sun flowers.
Discussion
Are data we colected was pretty acurate. all though we had some troubles in trying to find bugs, we managed to find at least one in each plot. are group worked together to help find diffrences we noticed between the two plots and what effect did each bug make. we came to conclusion that grasshoppers make the most changeand effect in the prarrie.
