background:
What we know as the Prairie used to be a football field back in 2014. The Prairie has 18 plots in total. The prairies plots are made up of 3 different kinds of treatments; Seeded Grass, Grasses and Forbs, and Grasses 2x Forbs. This Prairie has been studied for 8 years ever since it was transformed by Julie Schwarting and Dr. Helen Alexander and later studied by researchers from KU. The Prairie is covered in mostly “warm season” grass and hundreds of species of flowers. The species of flowers come and go throughout the year caused by the change in seasons.
background #2:
My group and I decided to study this question because the results would come out being very straightforward because there is lots of evidence. We also chose this question because it is a very easy question to study and research. Shown in research the Prairie consists of food for deer, rodents, bison, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
methods:
We looked for brighter colored grass
Most of the flowers we found were in large groups

conclusion:
Our group asked the question is grass taller in plots with flowers or without flowers. Based on our data we found that grass height isn't really affected if they are in plots with or without flowers. The measurements we have are all over the place. Grasses and 2x forb plots probably have more taller grasses, ranging from 17cm being the lowest and 54cm being the highest.
