Kansas Career Pathways
The state of Kansas (www.ksde.gov) designates Kansas careers into career fields. Within the career fields are course pathways. Clearwater currently has 10 pathways with a series of introductory, technical and application level courses. The following page shows the pathways and courses offered at Clearwater High School.
CTE Pathway Concentrator and Completer Recognition
Concentrator = A student who has earned two or more secondary level credits in a single CTE pathway, with those credits within any combination of two levels with at least 70% proficiency
Concentrators will be recognized with a certificate at the CHS Academic Awards night
Completer = A student who has completed a minimum of three credits in a single CTE pathway, with at least two of those credits being a combination of technical and application level courses; and also earned or completed at least one or more of the following:
Earn an end-of-pathway assessment/certification (industry-recognized certification or a passing score on a third-party, end-of-pathway assessment).
Earn an Excel in CTE Qualifying Recognized Credential aligned to the Pathway
Earn nine + college hours
Complete a high-quality work-based learning experience (School to Career Mentorship)
Completers will be recognized with a certificate and an honor cord to wear at graduation with the color designated to the pathway completed. It is possible for students to be a completer for more than one pathway and earn more than one cord to wear
