CHS Coursebook
Welcome!
Enrollment Guidelines:
Courses listed in the enrollment book will not necessarily be taught.
Any student who has failed a required course must enroll in a make-up as part of their schedule for the following school year or, with approval of the administration, in an equivalent online course during the summer or during the following school year.
All prerequisites must be completed before enrolling in a class.
No course, successfully completed, is repeatable unless so designated.
Students who plan to complete the Board of Regents College Admissions Requirements, Kansas Scholars Requirements, or NCAA athletic requirements are responsible for enrolling in the necessary courses at each grade level.
Students must list TWO alternates they are willing to take.
Students who fail to get instructor permission for classes that require instructor permission will NOT be enrolled in those classes.
Seniors who plan to take Senior Release time during second semester and who also plan to participate in any activity governed by the KSHAA must be sure to enroll in at least five courses of unit weight during second semester. Students who are not enrolled in at least five courses will not be eligible for the second semester honor roll.
Teacher Assistant, Office Assistant, Tribe Time, and XL Seminar will not count as one of the five.
Schedule Changes
Itis important that students carefully choose classes at pre-enrollment to minimize the necessity of schedule changes. Schedule changes may be made in the Guidance Office through the fourth day of each semester. Dropping a class during this time may require written parent consent and an explanation of why the change is being requested. Changes will not be allowed that adversely affect class size. Schedule changes after the fourth day of the semester will be made only with approval of the high school principal.
