Daniel Saltzman, MD, PhD

Professor

Division of Pediatric Surgery

Research Vision:

The Saltzman lab is one of the nation's leading labs studying microbial-based immunotherapy for cancer. This lab studies the use of microbes that colonize the tumor microenvironment to act as a "smart bomb" to deliver immune-modulating proteins directly to the tumor microenvironment.

Research Areas:

  • Microbial-based immunotherapy

  • Immunomodulating proteins

  • Cancer modeling
