Andrew Adams, MD, PhD

Professor

Chief, Division of Transplantation

Research Vision:

We study the immune response to transplanted organs with the end goal to improve outcomes. We evaluate novel immune pathways in an effort to develop more effective immunosuppressive medications as well as expand options for donor organs by optimizing and evaluating genetically modified pig organs.

Research Areas:

  • Large animal models of all- and xenotransplantation (kidney and liver)

  • T cell stimulation blockade and immune tolerance

  • Transplant diagnostics including in-vivo imaging
