Our new residents and fellows are almost 2 months into their programs, orientation for the incoming class of 2023 has started with the White Coat Ceremony occurring on August 23 (all are welcome to attend), and CPD is getting ready for a busy fall schedule of programming. Orientation for Mortuary Science will start later this month and the Anatomy Bequest Program remains as active as ever.
I have no doubt — this will be a challenging yet exciting year for the Office of Medical Education highlighted by our LCME visit in April and the opening of the new Health Science Education Center in the spring. We should all pause and reflect on the good work we are privileged to do in developing and ensuring the competence of the physician workforce and consequently people’s health and care experience. I appreciate everyone doing this work and I encourage you to take pride in this work, be innovative and collaborative, and do whatever you can to help our learners be successful.
