This year, Best Practices Day is extending into two days, with a workshop on May 1 followed by a keynote (from NYU's Marc Triola), posters, and a showcase on May 2. The 2019 theme is: Outcomes-Based Health Sciences Education: Translating Data to Best Practices.

This workshop is designed to help faculty who have little to no experience teaching in an active learning classroom (ALC) prepare for the transition. We will discuss the advantages of using active learning classrooms and describe activities and assessments that you can use in the space.
The TRIO McNair Scholars program is recruiting faculty mentors for its summer 2019 cohort. The program gives undergraduate students who meet certain eligibility requirements the opportunity to conduct research and prepare for graduate school. Complete a brief questionnaire for more information.
Medical Educator Scholarship and Development (MEDS) is delighted to announce this new monthly session open to all faculty, staff and trainees focused on medical education scholarship. Sessions are held the 4th Friday of the month from 11 am -12 pm. This structured hour long conference allows faculty to present their medical education projects (at any stage, including conception, grant preparation, data analysis, and manuscript/presentation preparation). Faculty are welcome to express their interest here and you will be contacted to schedule your session.
