Grade 4

Welcome to Grade 4. There are four subject areas to explore: Social Studies, Health, Science and Math.

Each subject includes activities that require you to listen, watch, read and do.

NOTE: Students may need a parent or other helper to guide them through these activities and help them discuss the reflection questions.

Students will be required to be signed into the UGCloud domain and/or the UG2GO site to access some videos

The focus for these activities is web based learning. PDFs can either be printed or used with Google Read and Write online.

In the following unit students will identify Canada’s political and physical regions, and describe their main characteristics and some significant activities that take place in them. They will assess some key ways in which industrial development and the natural environment affect each other in two or more political and/or physical regions of Canada.

In the following unit students will learn about healthy food choices and explore the connection between living well and healthy eating goals. They will be encouraged to apply their learning to making personal decisions about personal health and well being in relation to eating well.

In the following activities, students will explore the interdependence of plants and animals within specific habitats and communities and the effects of human activities on these habitats and communities.

In the following activities, students will have the opportunity to explore math tasks, games and problems across the five math strands from the curriculum. Students will use the seven math processes: reasoning and proving, selecting tools and computational strategies, connecting, representing, communicating and reflecting.
