Social Studies

People in the community:

In this Social Studies unit children will have the opportunity learn more about their community. Students will need a parent or other helper to guide them through these activities and help them discuss the reflection questions.Students will recognize that communities consist of various physical features and community facilities that meet human needs and learn how people in the community interact with each other and the physical environment to meet human needs.

The focus for these activities is web based learning.

WATCH - Community Helpers Video

This program explores the community and its workers. What is a community? Who sets the rules, keeps people and animals safe and healthy, maintains infrastructure, and keeps everything running in a community?
