Grade 3

Welcome to Grade 3. There are four subject areas to explore: Social Studies, Health, Science and Math.

Each subject includes activities that require you to listen, watch, read and do.

Students will be required to be signed into the UGCloud domain and/or the UG2GO site to access some videos

The focus for these activities is web based learning. PDFs can either be printed or used with Google Read and Write online.

NOTE: Students will need a parent or other helper to guide them through these activities and help them discuss the reflection questions.

In this unit students will compare and contrast land use and other special features of different physical regions in Ontario. Students will also learn about and discuss the Impact of pollution on water resources for all Ontarians, and particularly in relation to remote Indigenous Communities.

Note: To access the Learn 360 videos, you need to be logged into Learn 360 on the UG2GO site.

Foods from different cultures: In this Health unit, students will learn about and discuss foods from different cultures. They will also learn about the nutritional differences between processed and unprocessed foods.

Growth and Changes in Plants: In this Science unit, students will learn about and discuss how plants grow and change and have distinct characteristics. They will also learn about how plants are important to the planet and the need to protect plants and their habitats.

In the Math activities below, children will have an opportunity to explore rich problems, play math games and demonstrate an understanding of each of the five Math strands.
