I have always been invested in the Black community. I actually went into Criminal Justice because of the change I would like to see in the Black community in relation to the Criminal Justice system. I feel like a lot of it starts with the system and once you start making laws and regulations for that then you start seeing real change. I guess I was pushed towards Criminal Justice because of what I want my future to be, which is safe.
I am passionate about issues of social justice in general. I am involved in the Equity and Inclusion committee in order to help, and use my experience from the AAP in order to benefit the program.
Over the summer, I am going to work on the UD Anti Racism Initiative in order to find and create resources for the University to help them fight racism on campus.
Otherwise school is my main priority and I dedicate as much time to my education as I can. I take pride in my education and have made it to the Dean's list multiple times during my college career.
