I am of English and American descent as my father was born and raised in Sheffield, UK. Growing up with two different cultures taught me the difference in parenting for both America and Europe.
Some goals I have for my future are to have a secure job that I'm passionate about and have a family. Valuing living life and also experiencing life to ensure happiness in one's future. I focus on myself and try to find inner peace.
I expected to live on campus but then COVID happened, I made the best of the pandemic. I found more interesting things to do with my time such as binge-watching tv shows, experimenting with make-up, and even going as far as dressing in drag. Allowing myself to express how beautiful I feel on both the inside and outside is a key factor to my happiness in life. The experience that the AAP taught me is that there are more people like me who are still figuring themselves out and forever changing. As the famous RuPaul states, "If you can't love yourself how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?" which is a motto I've carried with me for a long time.
The accomplishment I am most proud of is persevering epilepsy and learning to live and work through this disease and still be successful. I was diagnosed back in the summer of 2017 and since then I've learned resilience in the hardest of circumstances. Since then I've still been able to get a job, continued to go to school, and even garnered more and more support from family and friends.
