I played four years of high school football on the offensive and defensive line. At the end of my senior year, I was awarded all-conference in Delaware, and won a bunch more school awards such as my varsity letter and what Mount Pleasant had called the Greenest Knight award. I eventually decided to stop playing football and start my college career at the University of Delaware.
One college experience that shaped my perspective was when I choose to do a project on why people shouldn't blame violent behavior on video games. I had asked Dr. Moore, who I really didn't know at the time, if she could give me her perspective on the topic. She made me see that for many people, video games is a place where they can excel and be strong and reach goals. And especially for those who might be more on the quiet side that can be a very empowering feeling and accomplishment.
I currently work at DICKs sporting goods as a store associate. The main department I work in is called team sports, which specializes in sports like football, baseball, and all other sports that you play as a team. But I can also work as a cashier, pick up people's online orders, size people for the right bikes, bats, and other equipment and sell weights and cardio equipment. I clock in, check-in with my manager to see what needs to be done and then I'll run through my department to see what needs to be cleaned up and if any of our customers need help. After I've done a run through of that I like to work as our ambassador, which means I greet people as they walk in the store and answer any questions they have and also take out any curbside/in store pick ups.
A big goal in my life is to find a job in customer service or in social media, at a major sports company like a major sports team or companies that are associated with sports such as Barstool Sports.
One of my new favorite hobbies is going to the gym, but I do have other fairly odd hobbies such as playing disc golf any chance I can get, and training in professional wrestling every Sunday and having shows one Saturday a month. I just find a way to better myself every day, whether that be going to the gym or trying to learn something new.
