Students in ANTH 201 Visualizing Humanity learn about the value of controlling your narrative. By critically observing the problematic ways in which cultural groups have been depicted, objectified and othered by anthropologists and documentary filmmakers, students learn to analyze the power dynamics inherent in these representations.
Capturing the AAP* is our final project, in which students showcase the humans that make up the Associate in Arts Program. With this collection of self portraits and stories, told in our own words, we are taking control of our narrative.
