The goal of the PQI project is to develop skills required to implement the process of quality assessment and improvement in clinical practice and to carry out this project in collaboration with a practice site, with the goal of improving the quality of patient care. The project involves active data collection (practice audit) and analysis.

All second year residents are required to undertake a PQI project during the 4-month RFM rotation, under the supervision of their faculty advisor and rural family medicine community preceptor.
PQI projects are to be presented at the clinic(s) where the project was conducted.
The PQI project is due at the end of the rotation or May 31st whichever come first.Â
