Evidence Based Medicine (EBM)

REQUIREMENTS

• Evidence Based Medicine workshop is provided by the program in the first year.  

• The workshop is comprised of lecture and small group learnings.  During the workshop, residents will attain skills required to search the literature and critically assess articles on therapy, diagnosis and systematic reviews.

• This workshop will include instructions on how the complete a BEAR worksheet.

• Resident attendance is mandatory and required for program completion. 

• Any unexcused absences may be kept on a resident’s permanent file and will require an explanation in writing to the program.

• The Program may require completion of an additional assignment or supplemental activity in lieu of an absence from a mandatory activity. You may be required to repeat the workshop if you are absent.
