A BEAR is a one page worksheet that was developed to guide residents through the process of identifying best evidence to inform their practice. They are structured to help residents answer clinical questions at the point of care in a timely manner using reliable and evidence based resources.
The Evidence Based Medicine workshop will instruct the resident on how to complete a BEAR worksheet. A one-page BEAR worksheet will take you through the steps of identifying clinical questions, efficiently search and find reliable and summarized resources, rapidly retrieve evidence, and enhance the skills and comfort in presentation.
The deadline to have all four BEARs completed and submitted to the Site Admin is May 31st of the PGY1 year.
Residents are required to complete four BEAR presentations over their first year.
The BEAR must be in the form of a question (Population, Intervention, Comparator and Outcome).
