COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course focuses on the transactional, domestic and international law aspects of international trade in goods and transnational investment. After taking this course you will: 1) be able to identify and understand the international law and Canadian law on international business transactions (IBT) and the transactional aspects of IBT; 2) be able to identify and understand the domestic implementation of Canada’s international business law obligations and soft law through statutes and judicial interpretation; 3) have stronger international business contract negotiation and drafting skills; 4) have stronger international and domestic law research and writing skills; 5) understand the ethical obligations of lawyers relating to IBT.
