Students will graded on their performance in a negotiation (50%) and mediation role play assignment (50%)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to introduce the student to dispute resolution (“DR”) mechanisms as they exist within the framework of civil actions in Alberta. The student will become familiar with the kinds of DR procedures available, and when best to use a particular kind. Practical “role play” type exercises will give the student “hands on” experience in negotiation and DR, skills that are invaluable in the practice of law in Alberta today.
