THINGS YOU CAN DO TO HELP IMPROVE YOUR TEST SCORES....

Practice summarizing what you read
Look for key details and main ideas
Answer practice questions after reading
Learn new vocabulary words each week
Test-Taking Skills:
Read each question carefully
Underline/highlight important words in the question
Eliminate wrong answer choices
Double-check answers
Stay calm and confident
I believe kids learn best in a supportive and structured environment.
In our class, we build a community of respect, kindness, and grit.
We set goals, celebrate growth, and encourage each other.
I am looking forward to a fabulous 2nd half of the school year!
We will visit the Media Center once a week to return and check out books. Students may also go on an as needed basis.
This gives students every opportunity to always have a book in hand.
Students write their homework responsibilities in their agendas each Monday. Homework responsibilities are always written in their agenda.
Homework: Students will have a Word Application List to study on their own. In addition, I ask that students read at least 20 minutes and complete a reading log (SEE BELOW) each evening. Occasionally, I will send home a reading comprehension practice page and/or a writing assignment.
**Word Application Lists and Newsletters are posted on our 4th Grade Team Page**
Thanks so much!
