Week of 3/31/26:
Study math facts! (see helpful links below)
With homework and assessments, I try to be sensitive to student needs and making sure our class is prepared to show what they know. So please understand if an assignment or assessment is bumped back a day or two based on what the students are needing. This page will be updated regularly, so check back frequently!
Week 4/6/26:
Monday: Measurement Conversions
Friday: Energy and Motion

Hello Families!
This week we are working on our last unit of 5th grade math! These kids have worked so hard this year. I’m absolutely blown away with their determination and growth.
We do not have any testing this week. We will complete the measurement conversion lessons on Wednesday and review Thursday and Friday. Monday, we will test on measurement conversion.
For science, we are working on Force and Motion. We will be completing this unit by the middle of next week and testing NEXT Friday, April 10th. We have been working on this concept with Mr. Fischer’s labs as well, which is so helpful!
Have a wonderful evening!
Mrs. Montgomery

a couple pics of where we're from
Originally from Washington State, my family and I decided Florida was calling in 2022. We love our new home and are excited to be a part of The Villages Charter School family! Heidi (13), Sam (5), Mr. Montgomery and I love to spend time at the beach or fishing.
I have a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (K-8) and a M.A. in English Language Learning from Western Governors University. This is my 21st year in education, and I've taught in all different kinds of settings - public, private, online, tribal, and charter. The Villages Charter School is by far my favorite school. The community, it's residents, our staff and students all make it such a joy to come to work each day and bless our dream makers and their families.
I'm looking forward to growing right alongside each of these fantastic students this year! Please reach out any time I can be of assistance.
Blessings,
Mrs. Montgomery
Let's Go on an Adventure!
Our families helped me curate a terrific list of places to adventure around the State of Florida at our recent HERD Meeting! Many of these locations are a terrific day trip and low cost. We cannot vouch for each site, so do your research, especially since storms may have affected some locations this past year. Hope you have fun with your littles and not-so-littles! 🥰 You can see the 2023-2024 video presentation here if you missed this year's class. Here's a link to the presentation from this year.
