Caputo's Crafty Campers
Caputo's Crafty Campers
Dear Parents and families,
Are we ready for another exciting week? I can hardly believe that we are entering the third week of October. Time sure is flying by!
Report cards came out via Skyward on Friday. Hopefully, you sat down and viewed your child's grades for the first quarter. Celebrated their accomplishments, and discussed where there could be improvement. Conference time is approaching, so I will be reaching out to you to set up one. I would like to kindly remind you to please sign your child's behavior sheet every Monday. It is in their green folder along with their work from the previous week. Anything needed signed, please do so and return it. All other papers may be taken out.
The book fair begins on Monday. If your child brings in money, they will be allowed to go once that day. I do not permit them to share their money with other students. Anything other than books will need to go to their backpack.
In math, we will begin Chapter 3: Multiplying 2-Digits by 2-Digits. This chapter is very similar to chapter 2, so the children will see some of the same strategies used. The spiral review homework will be passed out on Monday. This week our fact practice will focus on multiplying by 11. A quiz will be given on Friday.
In science, Both classes will complete the vocabulary quiz for chapter 3 on Monday. For the entire chapter the children will be responsible for knowing the three different types of rocks, the rock cycle, the difference between erosion and weathering, and natural resources and how we utilize them. They will get two new study guides, one bright pink (vocabulary) and the other yellow (entire chapter). Please make sure they are not thrown out. They are to be kept in their science pocket in their binder.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I wish you all a productive week!
My classroom library link is listed below. If the kiddos finish their work and do not have a book with them, they can select one from my library.
