We are just a couple of weeks into the third quarter and several students are missing work. Please take a moment and speak with your child regarding completion of their work. They will not have much, if any, classroom time to make it up, so it will be coming home as additional homework.
In math, we will be reviewing Chapter 6: Area and Perimeter. My homeroom will be completing the assessment on Wednesday and Mr. Rose's kiddos will do so on Thursday. Dividing by 9 will be the focus of the fact practice and assessment. This week's homework (Q3.3) will be passed out on Monday. It is so important that the children complete the homework. It spirals, so it reviews skills that we have covered. It is a great tool for the students to review those skills. Just a kind reminder that it should be completed in pencil.
In science, we will begin Chapter 5: Survival in an Ecosystem. Understanding and completing a food chain, knowing the difference between a producer and consumer, and identifying if a trait is inherited or learned are just a few of the topics that the children will be learning.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I wish you all a productive week!
My classroom library link is listed below. If the kiddos finish their work and do not have a book with them, they can select one from my library.
