Hello Families and Happy November!
We are off to a great start this year! Last month was all about building routines, growing our confidence and diving into learning. This month we will continue to strengthen our classroom community, set goals and celebrate our progress along the way.
Thank you for the support and encouragement you provide at home, it makes a world of difference. I look forward to seeing all the progress and achievements this month brings!🍎✨
Homework
Reading: Each evening 20-30 minutes any book of their choice. It is important to have discussions about what they are reading. These discussions allow you the opportunity to connect with your student through literature and to ensure they are understanding what they are reading.
Spelling/Vocabulary Words: Each week students are encouraged to practice their spelling and vocabulary words to ensure they understand them. On Fridays, we take our word app test which supports the word application work your student as been completing daily during the ELA block. Some suggestions to make practice more fun: turn the vocabulary words and definitions into a matching game, rainbow write the words in different colors for words they are struggling with the spelling or even play a game of hangman with their spelling words.
In an effort to ensure your student in staying on track with their learning if they are not completing their word app work during class time then they will be expected to complete it at home that evening as homework.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Educationally Yours,
Mrs. Burroughs
