Schedule after the Submission of Master’s Degree Thesis

This is to inform you of the schedule after submission of your master's degree thesis for those who are scheduled to complete their studies in March 2024.


[- 5:00 p.m., January 11 (Thu.)] Confirmation of Name on Diploma

All graduating students will receive one diploma printed in both English and Japanese.


Note to International students:

The name in both Japanese and English on the diploma will be written based on the name on the form of “Confirmation of Name on Diploma” that you submitted to the university at the time of enrollment. If you wish to confirm your “Confirmation of Name on Diploma” form that you submitted in the past, please contact the Education Affairs Section for Graduate Schools (the university office).


[Late January - early February] Oral examination

You can check the schedule of oral examination on the list of the  “Schedule of Oral examination.”

For details of the oral examination, please follow the instruction of faculty members.


[- February 9 (Fri.)] Application for Education and Training Benefits for the General Education and Training (only for applicants in the relevant courses) 


Although you were supposed to submit the application to the university office and the procedures were to be completed by the end of the month of enrollment, if you have not yet completed the procedures, and if you still wish to apply, please obtain an "Answer Form regarding Payment Requirements for the Education and Training Benefits (kyoiku kunren kyufukin shikyu yoken kaitosho 教育訓練給付金支給要件回答書)" from your local HelloWork (ハローワーク) and submit a copy to the university office by the above date (or attach the image data to an e-mail).

[11:00 a.m., February 15 (Thu.)] Announcement of Grades & Students who have met Completion Requirements

  “Menu” > ”Academic Inquiry” > ”Unofficial Transcript” > ”Print Transcript”


※The final completion result will be notified to each doctoral program and short-term completion student via “Toyo University Official App.”


[February 15 (Thu.)- March 12 (Tue.)] Reservation Period for Issuance of Certificates

Upon completion of the program, the university will provide you with a "Certificate of Completion in Japanese" and "Transcript of Academic Record in Japanese" (free of charge).


However, if you wish to receive two or more copies of a certificate in English or Japanese on the day of your graduation ceremony, you must make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, you will not be able to receive your certificates on the graduation ceremony day and you will have to wait until early April.


How to make a reservation 

Firstly, please pay the fees for certificates you wish to be issued at a certificate issuing machine during the above period. And then, submit the receipt to the university office to make a reservation for additional issuance. If you need help, please contact the university office.  The staff member will assist you.

(Although not recommended, if you wish to apply for a reserved issuance by post, please pay the fee with a postal money order, which can be purchased at Japan Post Bank, and send it to the university office by post. )

[- February 22 (Thu.)] Submission of Master’s Degree Thesis to be stored at Toyo University


For details, please refer to “VII. (After Oral Examination) Submission of Master’s Degree Thesis to be stored at Toyo University" in the Master's Degree Thesis Submission Guidelines.


Courses that require submission of thesis in paper media

Please submit (or send by post) one bound copy of your thesis in paper media to the EAS for GS office according to the style instructed in the Master’ Degree Thesis Submission Guidelines.  If the content of the thesis has been changed since its submission (deadline: January 10(Wed.)) according to the instruction by your supervisor, please resubmit a PDF file of the main body of the thesis at ToyoNet-ACE "[For Students] Master's Degree Thesis" along with the submission of the paper version of the thesis. 


Courses that require submission in PDF files

Please submit your thesis from ToyoNet-ACE "[For Students] About Master's Degree Thesis" by February 22 (Thu.).


[- March 1 (Fri.)] Request for Return of Thesis

If you pass the examination, one copy of your submitted bound thesis will be stored and made available for public perusal at Toyo University.  However, the remaining copies can be returned.  If you wish to have your thesis returned, please contact the university office by March 1 (Fri.).


[11:00 a.m., March 5 (Tue.)] Announcement of students who have completed the master’s program

Please log in to ToyoNet-G to check the results.

[March 23 (Sat.)]  Degree Awarding Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony

Details of the Degree Awarding Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony will be announced on the NEWS&EVENT.
