Research Ethics Committee

Toyo University considers persons engaging in research activities as researchers and systematically reviews whether the research activities conducted by the researchers are appropriate in terms of research ethics. The University has also established a university-wide research ethics committee for medical and health research involving human subjects and a committee at the organization to which the researcher belongs as necessary for other research.

Graduate students are included as researchers and shall take responsibility for their research activities. For example, when conducting research on the provision of personal information and data related to people’s behavior, environment, physical and mental condition, etc., graduate students as well as faculty members must obtain approval from the research ethics committee before conducting research activities, in principle. This shall also apply to cases in which a researcher obtains materials, information, data, etc. related to organizations and institutions.

You can check the procedure for each graduate school from the link below, so when conducting research activities, consult with your academic supervisor in advance, and also check the procedure for the graduate school to which you belong. Please follow the proper procedures.
