There are a number of things that should be included in the thought process of choosing your IB classes.
What do I like/enjoy studying. The IB Diploma is a two year program so you will do better if you like what you are taking. Talk to the TISA subject teachers for more information. Hopefully the self reflecting you have done in the MYP will assist in this process as well as the work you did on your Personal Project.
What do you think you will do well in. You are looking for a minimum of 24 points and a minimum of 12 in your HL subjects. Talk to your teachers for help in assessing this balance. As an example several of our top students have found that taking Art or Music or Theatre as a subject that they love has enabled them to do better in their other classes even though they do not plan on pursuing these subjects for further study.
What do you want and where to study post TISA . Some countries require specific courses or combinations of courses, as do many program admissions requirements. Germany as example requires either HL Maths or HL Science, and will not accept Ab Languages, plus other requirements, and Switzerland is even more specific with both subjects and point scores in the mid 30's or higher. The Where in the World? section of this web page will give you more information on Country specific requirements. Please see the below document for a very generalised summary of program related information to get you started. Please do not take the below information as the final word. It is a secondary resource! Please do your own research and look up programs that you may be interested in. Talking to the counselor is also encouraged.
In addition at TISA you may take individual IB classes at any level or take the full IB Diploma. If you choose to do the full Diploma you will need to take a minimum of three higher level (HL) classes and three standard level classes (SL). If you do not wish to take the full diploma you must talk to Mr. Hubbuck to define your alternate plan.
