I've been Team Rector of the Blackbourne group of Church of England churches since September 2019. I live in Ixworth with my family and assorted pets and you'll see me at St Mary's most Sundays, or walking about the village. I have a particular interest in Church of England Primary Schools. I was involved in shaping our School Vision, so I'm particularly passionate about our journey together at Ixworth: where learning has no limits and we soar together like eagles!
I have over 20 years of teaching experience and have a broad understanding of learning and progression across all primary phases; I served as an Assistant Headteacher for ten years. Having worked exclusively in Church of England schools, I strongly believe that the Christian values underpinning Church schools align closely with my own and should be lived out through daily practice within the school community.
I am passionate about creating a safe, inclusive school culture with high expectations, where children are encouraged to take risks in their learning and leave primary school as confident, happy and independent learners.
I live locally in Troston and both my children have attended, or are at the Ixworth Primary School. I volunteered to become an Ixworth governor as I am interested in the school decision making processes and have some relevant professional experience to bring to the role. I am keen to make a positive contribution to the Ixworth pupil experience!
Any spare time I have is usually spent with my family which is when I’m at my happiest. I also try and squeeze in the odd run or two when I can.
I live in Ixworth and both my children have attended, or are at the Ixworth Primary School - this encouraged me to volunteer as a governor. I am keen to work with, contribute to and support the school ensuring all pupils have a positive experience and the best education possible. I have extensive professional experience within healthcare, working with learning disabilities or in rehabilitation services. I currently work in a community therapy team either in schools, special schools or homes. It is for these reasons I have taken on the governor responsibility for SEN. In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking, Zumba and spending time with my family and friends.
I have lived in Ixworth since 2021 and have both my children attending Ixworth Primary School. I volunteered to be a Parent Governor as I wanted to give back to Ixworth as a local and growing school. I am keen to assist and understand decisions which are being made in order to help give pupils an excellent learning experience whilst at school. At home, spending time with family and friends is most important to me - along with walking, cycling and music.
I live locally and have a child who attends Ixworth Primary School. I joined the governing body to support the school community and help ensure a positive experience for all our children. I’m actively involved in the school’s PTA and help with fundraising to support school projects and events. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially baking together or planning our next travel adventure.
