Our Christian Vision

On a journey together where learning has no limits

We are a strong team who work together, with shared purpose, to care for and challenge our local children, families and each other to be the best that we can be. We are compassionate individuals, outward looking and courageous, respectful of each other, celebrate difference, are resilient and able to persevere to achieve our vision.

On a journey ...

Ixworth Church of England Primary School is on a journey. We are proud of what we have achieved and excited for what is to come.

In Isaiah 40:31 it says: “They will soar on wings like eagles.” This is our special Bible verse as it speaks of the fact that we are all a work in progress. It talks of the resilience we have through our faith in God.

...together...

Relationship is at the heart of all we do. We are a strong team and we believe it is essential to talk, to listen and to work well together. We pride ourselves in our outward relationships with our parents, carers and our community. We start our journey early in Little Owls Nursery at 3 years old and get to know our children very well.

Our Christian foundation is one which is rooted in togetherness. In the Bible it says: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up... Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–12).

...where learning has no limits.

We are aspirational for every child in our school.  We want our children to be independent and resilient young people who love to learn and who will continue to thrive into adult hood. We are aspirational for every member of staff and keen to support all in professional development.

We believe well being to be the essential starting point before anybody can achieve their potential and are committed to supporting the mental wellbeing of our children, families and colleagues.

Having the courage to press on in the face of problems is an essential value for us if we are to succeed in life and in our learning. The Bible tells us that : “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand” (Psalm 37:23–24).

How do we live the vision?

The values which we hold most important are those which enable us to live our vision. These are courage, compassion and respect. In our daily Collective Worship we explore these values through stories from the Bible, from other faith and cultural traditions and from real life examples in our world, country, community and school. We celebrate these values in action in our weekly Celebration Assemblies where children and staff are awarded 'Ixworth Incredibles' for demonstrating these values in action.

In our children...

We teach our children to live with courage because then they will meet what life throws at them, overcome these barriers and achieve their full potential.

We teach our children to live with compassion because by working together with understanding and kindness, we are stronger.

We teach our children to live with respect because the world is full of difference and for them to fully participate in the world they will need to embrace difference as well as change.
