Step-by step guide
Develop a design experiment to test your hypothesis
Successful experiments require a clear definition of what you are trying to test and how you will know if the test has been successful or not. Write down what the experiment will be and define the outcomes that determine whether the hypothesis is valid. A well-defined experiment should validate/invalidate the hypothesis.
Start with the hypothesis you want to test using ‘We believe...’: ‘We believe that showing the live location of the delivery driver for delivery customers will achieve reduced anxiety about when the delivery is going to arrive.’
Say how you will carry out the experiment using ‘We will do/make’: ‘We will make a click-able prototype showing a map and the drivers location and ask the participants about their feelings and thoughts.’
Say how you will measure success using ‘We will know the hypothesis is valid when we get’: ‘We will know the hypothesis is valid when we get a positive response from 75% of our research participants.’
