Routines

What are Routines?

Routines are an important part of our lives, from the moment we wake up to the time we go to bed. They are the activities and procedures that occur regularly. Routines provide structure, consistency, predictability, which impacts our ability to manage our time, self-regulate and learn.

Establishing routines will help children increase in independence or decrease the amount of assistance required when completing tasks. Some may require additional tools or support to help plan or prepare for changes in the routine or in the completion of tasks.
