Toronto Star Contest – If I Were Mayor
Open to students in Grades 1 to 12. Visit the link above for contest details. Four (4) prizes are available. Each winning entrant will receive: A story published in the Star about each winning entrant along with their essay, Four (4) passes to Ripley’s Aquarium (approximate retail value of $200), & a “Star Reporter for a Day” experience at the Toronto Star newsroom. The submission deadline is October 1.
Black Applicant Support & Engagement (BASE)
Open to Black-identifying Grade 12 students. The free virtual program from the University of Toronto’s (U of T) Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering provides students with a customized experience and resources to assist them through the challenges of the university application and decision-making process.
