After-School Academic Reinforcement Program
TASIS Dorado has an undeniable commitment to its students' success. In supporting the school's many initiatives to promote student learning, the CITL has helped launch the After-School Academic Reinforcement Program.
This year 5 middle schoolers have taken part in this wonderful initiative. From Monday to Thursday, the students receive targeted academic guidance to strengthen their math and English skills, with Ms. Sujé Meléndez overseeing the math sessions and Ms. Melissa Toledo guiding the English instruction.
The program benefits immensely from the CITL’s resources and the team's expertise. By providing state-of-the-art equipment, innovative tools, and personalized teaching, the CITL ensures this program runs smoothly and effectively. This collaborative effort has created a nurturing environment where our students feel supported and motivated to excel academically.
The results speak for themselves—our 5 enrolled middle schoolers have made significant strides in their math and language abilities! Seeing their confidence and skills grow has been truly rewarding. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this student-centered initiative, and we look forward to its continued success in empowering our learners.
6th Grade Unit 1 Media Project
This semester 6th grade students from Mr. Francisco's PR Studies class created wonder audiovisual presentations where they discussed an important topic in relation to geography and Puerto Rico. Using Spanish and English to share their gathered insights, students did a tremendous job demonstrating their understanding of complex issues and showed how learning can indeed connect to the real world. They used several of the CITL spaces to complete their project. On behalf of the class, we would like to share an example of the presentations crafted for this assessment. Enjoy!
Epilepsy Awareness Workshop
Across the United States and Puerto Rico, March is celebrated as Purple Month in dedication to epilepsy awareness. Through their collaborative efforts, the National Honor Society and Ms. Desiree Figueroa organized a special workshop led by the President of the Puerto Rican Society of Epilepsy. This insightful session, hosted by the CITL, shed light on the seriousness of epilepsy, a neurological condition affecting many across the world. Its aim was to break stigmas, promote empathy, and encourage continued learning.
Attendees left empowered to advocate for those living with epilepsy and to explore meaningful ways to support these vital and often overlooked members of society. Awareness begins with understanding—change begins with us.
