Thespians Honor Society Class of 2024 Exit Videos
Building on their remarkable mission to document the unique creative journeys of their members, the TASIS Dorado Thespian Honor Society partnered with the CITL to bring a truly inspiring project to life. Guided by their dedicated adviser, Ms. Lula, our talented troupe crafted a series of heartfelt interviews that celebrate the theatre careers of the 2024 seniors, capturing their creativity, dedication, and personal growth. This collaboration with the Secondary Division Drama Program allowed the CITL to provide a nurturing environment where both students and faculty could realize their artistic visions. The project not only showcases the extraordinary talents of our students but also underscores the vital role of collaboration in fostering artistic expression and innovation. It serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when passion is supported by opportunity.
French & Italian Night
In support of TASIS Dorado's French & Italian Night—facilitated by Madame Denisse Cintrón, the secondary French teacher, and Mr. Giovanni Cusimano, the secondary Italian teacher—the CITL offered its Recording Studio to Madame, her AP French students, and the French exchange student from Paris.
Adding educational and cultural significance to this night of festivities, Madame designed a brilliant project for our students to practice their oral skills in French by creating an interactive video where our students and the French exchange students compared French and Puerto Rican carnivals. By verbally discussing the similarities and differences of these significant cultural events, TASIS Dorado students were able to strengthen their communication competency in French while also learning from the experiences of the students visiting from France. This video project not only prepared the AP French students for the oral section of their AP French exam, but it also afforded them the opportunity to cultivate a global perspective by expanding their understanding of France through the eyes of French citizens.
Morning Announcements
In addition to fulfilling their regular responsibilities, the StuCo committee members have capitalized on the potential of the Recording Studio for the Upper School Morning Announcements. Led by Camila Goveo, the PR Specialist of the TD's StuCO of 2023-24, StuCo produced captivating and content-driven videos, utilizing the green screen, the teleprompter, and the Mac desktops with state-of-the-art recording and editing software.
Tech-Healthy Days
As part of its commitment to providing a safe and supporting learning environment, this semester TASIS Dorado kicked off its “Tech-Healthy” Mondays, a new initiative that invites students to set aside their electronic devices in order to interact with others face to face. In support of this mission, the CITL has provided students opportunities to exercise their imagination through coloring pages and to strengthen their problem-solving skills through different types of game puzzles (word searches, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, and more). Through such efforts, the CITL has helped cultivate positive communication and meaningful experiences among members of the TASIS Dorado community.
Spirit Week: Green Screen Pics & Smash Bros. Competition
During the thrilling and long anticipated week that is Spirit Week, the CITL offered both its Recording Studio for some fun green screen photo ops and its E-Learning space and Secondary Lounge for the lively Smash Bros. Competition. The CITL’s very own Profe and Kris were among those who shared a pick in front of the green screen. As for the esports brawl, although every team put in its best efforts, the 12th grade duo of Liam R. and Emilio P. rose victorious, securing spirit points for their class. The excitement of Spirit Week was undoubtedly felt at the CITL!
Semester-long Art Showcase
After dedicating long hours to doodling, sketching, painting, and crafting, the students of art teachers extraordinaires Ms. Lourdes Rosa & Ms. Desirée Figueroa completed their Semester-long art projects for their art courses. Although some were only temporarily housed here, several of their works can still be viewed at the CITL, which gladly has been hosting these precious works of creative minds for the second semester of 2024. Their art pieces reveal what can be achieved through perseverance and imagination!
Hosting the Digital Art Class
Where innovation is, creativity is not too far behind. This semester Ms. Desirée Figueroa launched a new afterschool class for art learners and enthusiasts: Digital Art. The course was designed for those wanting to improve their drawing skills on a digital platform. The enrolled students strengthened their knowledge of the popular art app Procreate and learned about its tools to craft vibrant, colorful, and enhanced artworks. From landscapes and cartoons to graffiti and portraiture, they dabbled in various styles throughout the course of Digital Art. Created for anyone and everyone, this class invites students who are unfamiliar with digital art as well as those who have experience with the Procreate app.
Art can be a useful medium for teaching and learning, and we are thrilled to have hosted Ms. Desirée’s Digital Art class within our state-of-the-art spaces. Ms. Desirée plans to offer this course every semester as part of the Afterschool Program. For more information please contact Desirée Figueroa (figueroa.de@tasisdorado.com).
Let’s give a big shout out to those who participated in this ingenious afterschool class this semester.

Quijote en la mirada: Español 10 Honores y sus perspectivas
The CITL had the distinct honor of hosting an enchanting exhibition titled "Quijote en la mirada" from May 9th to 16th. This captivating showcase was meticulously curated by the talented members of the Spanish 10 Honors class under the guidance of Ms. Jossie Cepero. The exhibition, a testament to the students' dedication and creativity, featured a diverse array of artifacts, souvenirs, books, illustrations, and even AI-generated materials. The CITL was delighted to support the Spanish Language Arts Program by providing a platform for these cultured scholars to display their exceptional collection. Visitors were treated to a vibrant celebration of Spanish traditions and literature, brought to life through the unique perspectives of these scholars of the Class of 2026.
Hosting the 7th Grade Investment Club
Blossoming into an incredible opportunity for young minds, the Investment Club guides students, interested in finance, through lively discussions and hands-on experience. The club kicked off with a large group meeting at the CITL Media Lab. After being introduced to their faculty advisor and parent coaches, the 7th grade students formed teams of 2-5 members, each supervised by a TASIS Dorado parent volunteer from the financial sector. Under the mentorship of esteemed and enthusiastic coaches—such as Tom Bures, Brian Szytel, and Glenn Greenberg, among others—the students began their profitable journey by learning basic financial concepts and receiving an overview of the Stock Market Game. This foundational knowledge has set the stage for their practical engagement within the financial world. Coordinated by parent & Board of Directors' member Linda Vester-Greenberg and moderated by Social Sciences teacher Mr. Jean C. Suárez, the club presents not only a structured yet dynamic environment but also a supportive platform where budding financiers can explore business and market ventures while also cultivating their professional investing skills. The Investment Club illustrates the seamless collaboration between dedicated professionals and passionate students. The CITL maintains its ongoing comittment to support programs that enrich students holistically in order to be engaged global citizens.
The CITL was fortunate enough to host Ms. Evy and Ms. Bea's 4th grade class in the Idea Labs as they created and exchanged art pieces that reflect their own culture with a class from The Dove School in Kampala, Uganda. This collaborative event was part of ArtLink, an innovative program–offered by Creative Connections–that merges art and global learning for students from 3rd to 12th grade. Ms. Evy and Ms. Bea's students enthusiastically completed the Artifacts Intro IVC course through which they explored and appreciated the artistic expressions of their international peers. As a result, our students were able to develop their skills in visual art and cross-cultural communication while also gaining global competency.
