STARTING WITH A SEED
In alignment with 3 of the 4 focuses of TASIS Dorado’s Strategic Vision for 2023-2029, the Sustainable Future Leadership Program is supported by its pillars of leadership, service learning, and sustainable development.
As a way to close the gap between the Elementary Leadership and Entrepreneurship Program and the 10th-12th Grade Leadership Academy, the Sustainable Future Leadership Program offers stimulating educational and experiential opportunities to 8th grade students. Although it has a distinct emphasis—namely sustainable development, the environment, and the Global Goals of the United Nations—this program advances the same skills and values stressed in the other programs.
Through the support of the Director of Middle School, Melissa Arroyo, and the groundbreaking work of distinguished faculty—Assistant of Special Programs, Axel Carrasquillo; Secondary School Art Teacher, Lourdes Rosa; Middle School Spanish teacher, Izamaris Hernández; and Middle School Geography teacher, Valeria Quintana—the Sustainable Future Leadership Program has directly cultivated students’ understanding of how to establish sustainable development practices and live consciously of the impact we have on our environment. At the same time, the students have fortified their abilities in constructive leadership, responsible research, collaboration, communication, and so much more.
It has its roots in TD's PBL Siembra.
