Mission: The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) aspires to be a dynamic, collaborative environment that inspires the TASIS Dorado Community to learn together, exchange ideas, and problem-solve. Combining the expertise of faculty and administrators, professional development workshops, and student support services, the CITL enriches teaching and learning by encouraging interdisciplinary discussions and inspiring forward-thinking educational practices.
PROGRAM GOALS
Build a culture of inquiry, experimentation, and collaboration among students, faculty, and the greater TASIS Dorado Community.
Foster reflective teaching and learning practices in order for faculty to create a robust and responsive culture of learning for their students.
Offer a range of services and emerging technologies for all students to maximize their learning potential.
Teach digital citizenship, information and media literacy, and effective research and writing skills.
Support faculty scholarship and professional development with a focus on student-centered pedagogies and innovative curriculum design.
Create opportunities to engage in real-world issues, exchange ideas on a global scale, and serve as a portal bringing the world to TASIS Dorado and TASIS Dorado to the World.
Ms. Nilda "Profe" Rivera
She is the CITL Coordinator and manages the CITL's many initiatives. She also teaches AP U.S. Government & Politics, AP U.S. History, coordinates the Faculty & Staff Professional Development and Model United Nations Programs as well as the New Faculty and Staff Academy and the History Bowl/Bee Club at TASIS Dorado.
Ms. Wendy Nieto
She is the TASIS Dorado Librarian. Although she spends much of her time with elementary students, she assists all students in finding books that suit their educational needs and personal interests. In her role as Student Support, she helps manage the CITL during after-school hours from Monday to Friday.
Ms. Susan Fiallo
She is the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Leadership Development. Along with all her projects, Susan heads the Exploration Days, the Lemonade Stand, the Bee Project, the Leadership Academy, and the Middle States Association accreditation process and committees.
Mr. Francisco Pantoja
He is a 6th Grade PR Studies & Humanities I Teacher who works as Student Support, assisting in the management of the CITL before & after-school hours from Mondays to Fridays.
Valentina F. '26
Valentina has been a valuable member of the TASIS Dorado community since pre-pre K. In addition to being treasurer of her class and an active member of Comidas Comunitarias and Italian Honor Society, she helps the CITL Core Team run the Social Media platform.
JoAnna Eva R. '26
Eva joined our TASIS Dorado community last year and has become an active member of the student body. She runs Media for STUCO, participates in the Bear News Club and the TASIS Dorado Media Team. Not only has she helped manage the TASIS Dorado volley ball team, she also supports the CITL Core Team by overseeing its Social Media platform.
