Phish Alert Button
Taft has recently installed the Gmail Add on Phish Alert Button (PAB) for Faculty & Staff. On this page, you will learn how to help keep Taft safe from malicious phishing emails.
When Do I Use the PAB?
You should click the PAB anytime you suspect that you have received a phishing email or any potentially dangerous email. The emails you report will also be forwarded to Taft IT Support for analysis.
The PAB should only be used to report emails that you believe are malicious. If you receive spam or marketing emails, you should not use the PAB to report these emails. You can delete these types of emails
Gmail Inbox
To use the PAB add-on in your online inbox, follow the instructions below.
Open an email and click on the PAB icon in the add-on menu.
Make sure to use the PAB icon found in the add-on menu in your Google inbox. It is the phish hook icon located on the right side of your Google inbox. For most users, it will be on the right-hand side of your screen. Depending on your Gmail setup it may be located in a different spot.
2. Click the blue Phish Alert button to report the email. If the message is a Phishing Test you should be notified to that fact. (Give yourself a pat on the back!!!)
3. Please note that the email will be moved to the Trash folder once you report the email.
Gmail Mobile
To use the PAB add-on from your mobile device, follow the instructions below.
On an open email, scroll to the bottom of the screen and locate the available add-ons section.
Click on the phish hook icon and scroll down to the bottom of the screen to access the PAB.
3. Click the blue Report This Suspicious Email button to report the email.
4. You will see a confirmation message similar to below and the email will be moved to your Trash folder.
