Students' success is something that all educators strive for. As a school counselor it is our responsibility to help all students reach their highest potential. Offering resources, providing feedback and guiding them in the right direction that works for them is our goal. High expectations is a result of what the student is aiming for and is determined to reach. I chose High School Graduation and College Entrance Requirements Powerpoint because it represents the expectations of students that want to attend a university. An important part of being a school counselor in training is to show the students you believe in them. Guiding them, answering questions and making sure they know that your door is always open to them for whatever questions or concerns, allows them to know you will be there for them to help support them in whatever it is they may need. Being open-minded and willing to listen offers them a safe and comfort zone. Advocating for them for resources or help they need allows for expectations to be seen in a positive manner that can lead to their success.
