Collaboration is a key component in a school counseling program. One needs to collaborate well with staff, families, and outside resources, but it is also very important to collaborate well with the student. Building a positive relationship can establish a safe and comfortable environment. When collaboration happens, I feel that everyone is doing their part in making whatever the situation or need is for the student the best that we can happen.
Interview with a School Psychologist assignment was very informative. It provided me an opportunity to see someone else's point of view when it comes to identifying and fulfilling students' needs. I was able to learn more about the school psychologist's role and his daily routines, what types of assessments he gives and how he looks at his data.
