Last year we were privilidged to be part of a pilot project in Sefton called Team Around The School (TAS).
The project ran across the borough with 5 clusters. We were part of cluster 4 with Maghull High, Aintree Davenhill and Hudson Primary. The core team comprised of professionals fom the Sefton SEND and Inclusion service, Mental Health in Schools Team, school nurses, school staff, a social worker and an early help worker.
We also have access to many other agencies who are able to offer support to families. These agencies include Seftton@work, DWP, SWACA, Active Sefton, Addvanced Solutions to name but a few. We hope to see more families engaging this year.
Our team can offer advice to parents who may be struggling with parental relationships, families with children who have complex needs, health concerns, money worries, managing behaviour and setting boundaries, drug and alcohol misuse, emotional health and wellbeing and so much more.
I appreciate that many like to keep worries or anxieties to themselves and may feel uncomfortable or even embarrassed approaching school, but, sometimes just that one conversation can make such a huge difference. No information is passed on to any agency without your consent.
