Linear Perspective

I made these three drawings using perspective to show how an object or room would look while viewing it from a certain location. I made all of these drawings using graphite as well as a ruler for the lines needed to create the realistic look of a 3d room or object. For the three drawings I chose to draw a series of 3d perspective squares and rectangles, I also drew a fictional room as well as the hallway in the school. I chose the series of rectangles to introduce me to this concept and style, the room was to help me work on different shapes and combining shapes, and the hall was to really put these together to create a perspective of a setting.

The way that I created these was to start with one or two vanishing points where all lines disappear. Then I made a shape that the lines would start from and go to the vanishing point to create the shape of the room or object. One thing that I was constantly changing in my drawing was the positioning of my lines to exactly match my view from where I am, One thing that I did not change was my vantage point so my view stayed the same and I didn’t draw the perspective wrong.

I am very proud of my ability to do this because I know that it will help me greatly in many of my future drawings that I am interested in such as drawing automobiles that I can draw much more realistically with this technique. I think that I could have added some shading and shadow to my drawing to give it a more realistic look as well as adding more lines to make a more solid look for my drawing.
