Self-Portrait

Self-Portrait 1/7/19

For my drawing I drew a self-portrait. I used black and white charcoal to draw it. I took a photo of myself and drew 1x1 inch grid. Then I took my drawing paper and drew the same 1x1 inch grid on it. After I started to color the top left with charcoal. I wanted to draw a funny photo because it would be more interesting than just a self-portrait. A lot of shading is shown in this drawing, I made the shadows by smudging the charcoal, like under the chin and lips. If my drawing could be stronger I would like to change how I colored in the face with only charcoal, it made it look patchy. I would also like to made more shape in my nose by shading it in. A nose isn't drawn in, it is shaded in and I would like to make it look like that. I would also like to get some shading look better on my neck and eyes. And get the head shape look a little better. I would also like to re-shade my face so the color doesn't match the background. Another thing I would've liked to do was to use different materials and not just charcoal. I could've shading things better and gotten a better shape on some parts.
