Assemblage Sculpture

For this sculpture I created a butterfly. To make it I had to start by making the body. So I used news paper and created the shape then taped the ball of news paper shut. Then I cut out the wings from a large piece of cardboard. After I hot glued the two body pieces together. Then I glued on the wings. To cover the wings I used all the yellow I could find from a bunch of magazines. then afterwards I cut out black areas from the magazine to use to cover the body. I chose to make a butterfly because I liked the shape of the body and wings. At first my project took a long time to cover with magazine papers so I chose not to do the bottom make it like a sculpture that can hang on the wall, so I used some wire and connected it to the bottom of the body to make it hang. If I could change things about my project it would to be have more detailed wings and make them look more realistic. I also wish I hadn't chose to just use yellow as the wing colors because it was a long process to get all the colors. I also wish I could've glues the parts together better and make it a more tight fit. I took time to make the body shape but it can't be seen because the glueing of the black magazine paper is so loose.
