Ink, Charcoal and Graphite on water color paper

Artist Statement- The main idea or prompt that guided my artwork was I choose a picture of Beau laying on me on the couch and then I turned it into grid form on both my reference picture and my real portrait. Some of the materials that I used were graphite to figure out shading and make more fine lines than charcoal could. I also used charcoal and the tiniest bit of ink and I drew all of this on Color paper. The process I went through with my starting point and finishing piece was I took it square by square and coped what I had from my reference photo. I didn't have to revise or start over this time but I did spend a lot of time trying to make it as realistic as it could be. For the value strip I used Ink, Charcoal and graphite on drawing paper. This piece was just used to see how the materials blended and worked together so on our real project we didn't mess up.
