Artist Statement- The main idea that really lead my artwork was trying to portray the Ruddy Ducks real environment and habitat. Not many people know the Ruddy Duck or anything about them. I didn't know they existed before this project. So I wanted to draw peoples attention to them.

For this project I used canvas paper and sketched out my drawing in graphite and then used acrylic paint for the finished product.

When this project was introduced to us I had no idea what I wanted to do. I looked through the list fo options of ducks and birds that were allowed. I chose the Ruddy Duck because I knew not many people in our class were doing it. I did a lot of research about the Ruddy Duck and their habitat and then sketched out some options. I chose one sketch and made some last minute adjustments. I used my research about the environment and made my final piece of artwork.
