Artist Statement-
The main idea that guided my artwork was my love for boating in the summer time. I know I say this in like every artist statement but I love making art that has personal meaning to it. Even if nobody else understands. My personal aspect of this project was my love for my movie "On Golden Pond" In the movie my favorite character Norman goes fishing and catches this special rainbow trout. The specific materials that I used were printer paper, Block printing ink and a linoleum block and a carving knife. The process that I went through from beginning to my finished product was a lot of revising. At first I had no idea what I wanted to carve into my block, then I thought of the meaning and sketched out my rainbow trout on my block. I started carving and realized my lines were connected to much that the ink wouldn't make out the details so I started over and made my fish bigger to create my final project.
