Candy still life 9x12
Shaded spheres 9x12
In both of my drawings you can see that there is spheres the one with four spheres the spheres are more circular than the m&m's are more free form. My work relates to my life because I love chocolate and M&M's are one of my favorite candies. I chose to do the four spheres because it was an assignment but I chose the colors of all of them and I really like all of the colors I chose.
I made the shaded spheres by using a circle stencil and then I used chalk pastel on one, oil pastel on another one, colored pencil on another, and water color on the last one. For my M&M's I used a cirlce stencil and watercolor to make the M&M's, chalk pastel to make the shadows, and some white pen to make highlights.
I started by making four circles for the shaded spheres and then I used chalk pastel and blended it with my finger and did the same thing with the oil pastel. For the colored pencil since colored pencil doesn't blend I had to color until there wasn't any lines and white spots, for the watercolor I just painted the circle. For the M&M's and the wrapper I painted all of the circles with watercolor the colors of my refrence and then I used chalk pastel and blended it with my finger for the shadow. I used white pen to make highlights on the M&M's. Both of my projects evolved a lot from looking just like circles to spheres. My next steps could be for the shaded spheres to make the colored pencil and oil pastel spheres neater. For the M&M's I would add mor highlights especially to the wrapper of the M&M's.
