In my art you can see that is based off of the beach, with a big basketball hoop backboard that is stuck in the sand. I chose to do the backboard is supposed to represent what claes oldenburg did, he made big sculputures of random everyday objects so I decided t paint a big basketball hoop in the sand with a sunset that has swirls in it which represent Vincent Van Gogh, because his backgrounds have swirls in them. In post impressionism there is lots of bold colors and a lot of blue.
My work was made with mostly watercolor, I used red watercolor for the outline of the backboard and gray for the inside of the backboard I also outlined the backboard with a black marker to make the backboard pop out more. I used blue and some purple to do the water, I used a white marker to outline the edge of the water so it looked like the water was breaking at the sand. For the background I used purple, pink, and sme blue to make it look like a sunset.
How I made it first, I drew out where I wanted the water and the sand to be . Then I drew out the backboard trying to make it look like it washed up on shore and is stuck in the sand. I then drew out swirls. I started painting and then after I painted I used a white marker to make the swirls pop out. My project evolced a lot because while I was painting I thought the sunset was not going to look like a sunset but now it looks a lot better and less splotchy then it did before. My next steps could be to make the backboard look les flat and more realistic.
